So much so that he's not only being scouted by NPB teams, but by MLB teams such as the Rangers, Dodgers, Yankees and Mariners. His personality fits MLB, but I don't know how well it would go down with NPB if he chose to leave for the states.

As for blocking the plate, I don't know if a new rule is in place regarding that. It could very well be a safety issue requiring the catcher to leave an area of the plate open, but unfortunately I wouldn't be the authority to ask.Goro Shigenohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13780997342300576882noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6562979641737696495.post-41542943564867991842009-07-25T14:08:20.009+09:002009-07-25T14:08:20.009+09:00Well Yamada just crushed Misawa 7-1, without havin...Well Yamada just crushed Misawa 7-1, without having to use their ace pitcher. On another note, I caught the end of the Hanamaki Morioka Iwate final game yesterday. The pitcher for Hanamaki is a real stud. Great fast ball, and lots of emotion. Should make for an interesting Koshien for him.canmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07147784945445670657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6562979641737696495.post-81255476544878461042009-07-25T11:56:32.907+09:002009-07-25T11:56:32.907+09:00Big shock yesterday as Kosei lost to their sister ...Big shock yesterday as Kosei lost to their sister school Noheji West. Many people thought this was Kosei's year, as Yamada has not played well. But it looks like the path to koshien is set now for Yamada. I have a question about blocking the plate. Is there a new rule regarding catchers not allowed to block the plate? A few days ago a player was touched out at home, but the umpire called him safe saying the catcher blocked the plate. Is this a new safety measure?canmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07147784945445670657noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6562979641737696495.post-21858681508105614512009-07-23T02:24:57.352+09:002009-07-23T02:24:57.352+09:00That is disappointing. Don't suppose the weather had something to do with it?Goro Shigenohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13780997342300576882noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6562979641737696495.post-7211938837488564932009-07-23T00:42:44.946+09:002009-07-23T00:42:44.946+09:00I was at the Urawa Gakuin vs. Seibo game today. I don't think a single run of the 4 Hanegura gave up were actually earned.

I'm a little shocked -- I was kind of planning to follow Uragaku to Koshien this year. Guess not.Deannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11951797747122213407noreply@blogger.com
